The Association des Maréchaux-Ferrants du Québec
was created in August 1988 in St. Hyacinthe during the Quarterbec
competition in collaboration with its founder, Mr. Jacques
Tremblay, and the farriers in attendance.
Initially, there were about 35 members whereas today membership
has more than quadrupled across the province.
The purpose of the Association
is to make horse owners aware of the importance of good hoof
trimming and shoeing, according to the requirements of each
discipline, and to provide continued education or skills upgrading
for farriers.
Currently, the
Association organizes several activities
for its members
