| Maintenance
of the shoe:
Here some basic criteria to preserve the
shoes of your horse in good condition:
- The shoes of the horses must be cleaned before and after
each use.
- They will have to be lubricated or not according to
recommendations' of your fairrier.
- The litter must be clean to prevent any rot with the
shoes.
- At the time of the trimming of the shoe, one seeks
to preserve his normal length to him and an angle in the
continuity of the pastern.
It is an error to believe that the shoe of
a horse to the pasture or in its stall, does not require regular
trimming. It is useful amongst other things, to prevent that
the horn bursts on its contour and to restore the balance
when it is distorted.
- The first examination of the foal, should be made as of
the 2 months age.
- The foal should already be handled by its owner or trainer
well before the first visit of the fairrier.
- The regularity of the door-fitting is done on average
at the six (6) weeks. This frequency can vary according
to, the use of the horse or according to its conformation.

How to facilitate the work of
your fairrier : |
- Envisage a place of work close to the door of access.
- An electrical connector near its place of work.
- A clean alley of work and dries.
- A satisfacto ry clean Horse
- If your horse with a nervous disposition, to envisage
an assistant.
- Foot not lubricated (minimum 48 hours).
Inform your fairrier about any change to
be brought before it begins his work. Especially, do not hesitate
to ask him the questions which worry you; it will be made
a pleasure of answering it. |
